Academic work in Aarhus outlining a top-down, long-grid path towards an EnergyNet-aligned architecture. One paper published, more in progress.
An academic group in Aarhus is publishing a series of papers on how an EnergyNet-aligned architecture can be reached top-down from the existing long grid, complementing the bottom-up building and neighbourhood deployments.
One paper has been published and the work is ongoing. The authors have asked for the project to be listed by city only for now; links to the papers will be added when the parties agree.

EnergyNet is leveraged to upgrade an existing village-sized microgrid in California and add sharing and coordination capabilities on top of it.
An existing village-sized microgrid in California is being planned for an EnergyNet upgrade. Rather than replacing the installed generation and storage, EnergyNet is layered on top to add energy routing, sharing between properties and rule-based coordination that the current microgrid cannot do.
The project is in the planning stage. The parties have asked for it to be listed at state level only; the pin marks the state, not the site.

Prestudy in Eskilstuna covering several potential EnergyNet deployment projects across the municipality.
A prestudy in Eskilstuna is mapping several candidate sites for EnergyNet deployments and assessing which should go first. Individual projects will be listed separately as they are decided.
Parties are to be confirmed by the editors.
Upgrade of a block of existing properties on Gotland to an EnergyNet with local production, storage and sharing between the buildings.
A block of existing properties on Gotland is planned for an EnergyNet upgrade, connecting the buildings into a shared local grid where solar production and storage are shared according to rules set by the owners.
Parties and exact location are to be confirmed by the editors.
New build on Gotland with several multifamily homes designed from the start around an EnergyNet, currently in construction design.
A new-build development on Gotland with several multifamily homes is being designed with an EnergyNet from the outset: internal DC distribution, shared storage and energy routers are part of the construction design rather than a later retrofit.
The project is in the construction design phase. Parties and exact location are to be confirmed by the editors.
Prestudy for an energy community in Hammarby Sjöstad, Stockholm, based on EnergyNet sharing between the district's properties.
A prestudy for an energy community (“energigemenskap”) in Hammarby Sjöstad, Stockholm, looking at how the district’s existing properties can share locally produced and stored electricity over an EnergyNet.
Parties are to be confirmed by the editors.
Prestudy in Lund covering several potential EnergyNet deployment projects beyond the sites already under way.
A prestudy in Lund is mapping several further candidate sites for EnergyNet deployments, building on the experience from Brunnshög and Spjället/Pottungen. Individual projects will be listed separately as they are decided.
Parties are to be confirmed by the editors.
Existing rental property in Lund with a few dozen apartments and a co-living house, planned for EnergyNet-based local energy sharing.
An existing rental property in Lund, with buildings from the 1950s and 1990s holding a few dozen apartments plus a co-living house with shared spaces, is planned as an EnergyNet site for local energy sharing between the buildings.
The property owner has asked for the project to be listed by city only. Scope, timeline and partners are known to the editors and will be published when the parties agree.

Small EnergyNet deployment in Munich set up for academic research purposes.
A small EnergyNet deployment in Munich is being planned as a research installation, giving an academic group hands-on access to energy routers, local storage and the Energy Protocol for experiments and teaching.
The project is in the planning stage. The parties have asked for it to be listed by city only.

280 apartments on Väster in Lund connected into a shared internal LKF grid where properties share locally produced and stored electricity.
LKF’s existing residential area Spjället/Pottungen on Väster in Lund is the first neighbourhood-scale EnergyNet. Around 280 individual electricity subscriptions are replaced by a shared internal grid owned by LKF, in which the properties share solar production and battery storage locally.
The system combines rooftop solar, battery storage and an internal DC network with energy routers that, like the internet, direct, distribute and store energy between properties according to rules set by the energy community. Surplus is used where it does most good and load on the overlying grid is reduced.
Excavation started in February 2026. Kraftringen handles grid connection and evaluation; ViaEuropa supplies the EnergyNet technology.

New district in Örebro where property owners reduce, produce, store and share energy in a shared local system, with legal approval for sharing between properties.
Tamarinden in Sörbyängen, Örebro, is a new district built as a prototype for climate-smart neighbourhoods. The property owners jointly reduce, produce, store and share energy in a local energy system with two internal networks for electricity and heat, solar hybrids, batteries, wastewater heat recovery and geostorage.
The Swedish Energy Markets Inspectorate has granted permission for local energy sharing between the properties. Preliminary studies indicate around 30 percent energy savings and a 50 percent reduction in power demand.
The energy sharing collaboration in Tamarinden involves ÖBO, Tornet and CapMan’s residential fund, alongside Örebro municipality and other developers in the district.

Campus deployment in Texas where EnergyNet is used to build student expertise in local energy systems while making the campus more resilient.
A campus in Texas is planning an EnergyNet deployment with two goals: to accelerate expertise in local energy systems among the student body, with the installation serving as a living lab, and to improve campus resilience through local production, storage and sharing between buildings.
The project is in the planning stage. The parties have asked for it to be listed at state level only; the pin marks the state, not the campus.
